Türkiye

Türkiye is an intriguing wine region, mostly focusing on exporting its wines to the west of Europe. As the domestic demand for wine is quiet, many of Turkey's vineyards have started to plant international grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. However, there are a handful of exceptions to that: introducing Chamlija in Kirklareli and the Kayra Winery in Denizli and Anatolia. At Kayra the winemakers are pioneering the true gems of Türkiye: indigenous varieties like the elegant Kalecik Karasi, the spicy and rich Okuzgozu variety and the fresh, herby Narince style. Meanwhile, Chamlija is one of Türkiye's finest wineries with some truly exceptional wines made from indigenous Turkish grapes that would rival some of the best classic wines.
