India, Thailand & Japan
There's so much innovation and excitement coming out of Asia today and the wine can be truly stunning. While much of Maharashtra in west India is hotter than all of continental Europe, careful selection of only high altitude vineyard sites and modern winemaking methods have put India firmly on the wine map with the country's leading producer, Sula Vineyards making sublime wines made to be enjoyed with food.
We also have Thai wines from Monsoon Valley. Their grapes have been grown and harvested by hand at altitude to produce fresh, structured wines within Thailand's sub-tropical climate. The resulting wines are savoury, moreish and very easy drinking.
Finally we have wines from Japan, and, as always the case with the Japanese drinks trade: top quality. They did it with sake and then whisky, now they're winning the game again with their luxurious white wines. These white wines are elegant, clean and very fresh. Pair with Japanese cuisine for the ultimate food and wine matching experience.
