Four autumn bakes and four autumn wines for a cozy day at home

Four autumn bakes and four autumn wines for a cozy day at home

Autumn is a magical season, the days get shorter, the air colder and sweet with the smell of dying leaves, the trees turn into a thousand beautiful warm shades of copper, gold and red.

Rainy autumn Sundays are the perfect time to put your feet up, enjoy a freshly baked cake or loaf and pop open a bottle of delicious wine.

These are our four favourite bakes and wines for the season!

A sweet and spicy autumn bake, this Fig and Halva, Sundae and Cardamom Drizzle Cake pairs beautifully with a glass of our Kardos Tundermese Fairytale (Hungary, £15.95).

For a healthier option, try this Baked Banana Porridge, we like it with a drizzle of raw honey and a glass of Feudo di Stanta Tresa Vino Spumante Il Grillo NV (Sicily, £14.95, Vegan and Organic).

An autumn/winter classic, one can never go wrong with a traditional Apple Crumble. We like ours served with yoghurt instead of custard for a hint of sharpness that contrasts the sweetness of the crumble. Pair with a glass of Tokajicum Tokaji Aszu 5 Puttonyos (Hungary, £21.95) which has the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity.

If you're a lover of savoury treats, try this Courgette and Cheddar Soda Bread, spread generously with butter when it's still warm out of the oven and pair with a glass of Pratello Torrazzo Valtenesi (Lake Garda, £14.95, Vegan and Organic).

Hope you enjoy these pairings and the transition into autumn!
