Sourced from 12 year old, single Guyot trained trellis vines on south-facing vines in the Vipava Valley. Vineyards include Potoce and Pliska, at 120-170m above sea level. They benefit from a mix of light valley breezes, moderation from the river, and the Mediterranean sunshine. The soils here are a mix of marl and clay. Harvest is exclusively by hand with only the best fruit pressed and less than 3,000 bottles made each vintage. Stainless steel fermentation is followed by four months of active battonage and filtration before bottling.
Aromas of white pear, pink grapefruit and citrus lead into a smooth, rich white wine with a fresh, summery finish. Melon, pear, green apple and lemon rind make up the palate with a rounded mouthfeel.
Pairs beautifully with: Salmon, pork chops, poultry in cream sauce, shellfish like mussels or oysters, veal schnitzel, pasta dishes, risotto, or leafy salads.
