Founded in 1962, Tbilvino has been described as one of the pioneers of modern winemaking in Georgia, building on an ancient history of viticulture in the region. Since the 1990s, Tbilvino has focused on producing the finest quality wines from both indigenous and international grape varieties. The winery is headed by the Margvelashvili brothers, Zura, himself a winemaker, and Giorgi, an economist. The winery is also overseen by chief winemaker Jeff Aston, originally from Australia. The company own and buy grapes from nine different sites in Georgia.
