Beach Bum Rum was set-up as a brand to celebrate escaping the daily grind by bringing you a little taste of the sun-kissed Mauritius island. Sugarcane was introduced to Mauritius by Dutch settlers who saw the island had the perfect climate for growing the sugar. Thirsty settlers began with arrack and, via French and British influence, eventually rum with the first distilleries firing up in 1852. For Beach Bum's rums, this traditional sugarcane is infused with vanilla and Java coconut for a distinctively Mauritius character. While the White Rum is a favourite for budding mixologists, the Gold edition is a melody of butterscotch, shortbread and toasted coconut perfect for topping with ginger beer or sipping with ice.
