Young, big red wine with bramble berries, black cherry and spice.
Paso-Primero Tinto is a dry, full-bodied red wine from Somontano, Spain. It's a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Garnacha & Syrah with 15.0% abv. Suitable for Vegans.
Introducing the best-selling wine by Thomas and Emma Holt, the owner winemakers at Paso-Primero in Somontano in Aragon, northern Spain. The red is a special selection of fruit grown in Somontano (meaning "foot of the Mountain"), most of it from the Salas Bajas mountains at an altitude of 455m. Traditional cool ferment allows the preservation of big, juicy fruit flavours while a combination of oak barrel, tank and concrete maturation adds complexity to the blend. The wine is unashamedly a "drink now" style, full of delightful black fruits, spice, gentle tannins and a warming finish.
"It’s there with the best value wines I’ve had this year. Brilliant, juicy and fresh and impossible not to like. Unless you are some sort of wine ogre.” - Joe Fattorini.
Pairs beautifully with: Hearty pasta dishes, cheese-stuffed American ham burgers, BBQ pulled pork, swede and parsnip veggie stew, lasagne, beef goulash or your favourite Sunday Roast.
Cheese pairing: Cheddar and Red Leicester.
