Delightful red cherries, cranberries and Mediterranean dried figs combined with spicy, earthy undertones.
Paşaeli 6N is a dry red wine from Mount Ida (Çanakkale), Turkey. It's a blend of 92% Karasakız and 8% Merlot with 13.5% abv.
"6N" is a silent protest to deforestation for gold mining in Mount Ida, one of Turkey's natural treasures and also where this wine is sourced from. It's made from old vine Karasakız grapes, which is an indigenous variety from the ancient lands of Mount Ida and Gallipolli. Grown 550m above-sea-level and blended with just a touch of Merlot, it is fermented spontaneously with native yeast and aged briefly for 8 months in oak barrels. 6N is one of Turkey's "terroir" wines that offer something unique which truly reflects where the wines comes from. The nose is delightful with aromas of sweet red cherry, cranberry, and dried fig. On the palate it bursts with sour cherries, savoury spice and earthy undertones.
You'll like this if you like... Syrah, Rioja, Nebbiolo based wines, Burgundy.
Pairs beautifully with: Lamb shish kebab, Margherita pizza, pork casserole topped with garlic bread, steak sandwich or pasta in tomato sauce.
Cheese pairing: Comté or smoked cheese.
