Barat is a Grand Cru single vineyard in Tokaj owned by Laszlo Szilagyi and his winemaking family. The wines are small parcel production, focusing on quality and showcasing the terroir in which the fruit is grown. It leads with ripe tropical fruit, sweet citrus and grapefruit. The texture is silky and mouth-watering with a hint of oak and vanilla, leaving white peach notes on the finish. The style is bound to satisfy any White Burgundy-fan. There are less than 90 bottles available in the UK, so this is a very exclusive wine.
Pairs beautifully with: Mussels, roast turkey, carbonara, veal in cream sauce, chicken and leek pie with mustard mash, tuna steak or Moussaka.
