Introducing a new, true style of 'Bikaver' (Bull's Blood) red wine from the slopes of Görögszó in the Szekszard wine region of southern Hungary. Bikaver can only be made in Eger, to the north, or Szekszard, to the south, and at least 40% of the blend must be from the two indigenous grapes Kekfrankos and Kadarka. Any other varieties must not make up more than 10% of the blend. The wine also spends at least one year in oak to develop spiciness, warmth and complexity. A richly-fruited nose leads with blueberries, blackberries and bell pepper, followed by spice, crunchy berries and dark chocolate. The wine is rich with elegant tannin and great depth!
