Damjanic Borgonja 2016, Croatia

Croatian Wines

Dry red wine, 75cl. Full bodied 100% Borgonja (Blaufrankisch) from Istria, Croatia. 13.0% ABV. Suitable for Vegetarians.

Once believed to be the same grape variety as Gamay, the Istrian Borgonja variety is actually the same as Blaufrankisch. It is a light-coloured, fruity style of red wine with hints of spice and meadow herbs. Juicy, easy-going and as loveable as a great Beaujolais, this is the perfect Summer red wine.

You'll like this if you like... Beaujolais Villages red wines or soft fruity numbers.

Pairs beautifully with: Cured hams, beetroot and goat's cheese, stuffed Portabello mushrooms, roast lamb or smoked salmon dishes.

Cheese pairing: Triple cream soft cheese like Brie.
