Dr Endre Demeter has some of the finest vineyards in Tokaj and his passion for letting these terroirs express themselves in his wine mean he makes some of the finest bottles in the region. This single vineyard white wine is sourced entirely from Király, meaning 'King', and refers to the hill in which its grown. The vines here are mature and deep rooted, planted on steep terraces with little or no top soil, only volcanic rock, forcing the roots deep into the mineral rich subsoils below. This gives low yielding but intense fruit. Think meadow hay, pithy citrus, kernel and kiwi on the nose. The palate is pure and refreshing, packed with bittersweet quince, grapefruit, honeydew melon and red apple. It's peppery and fresh on the finish with nutty, savoury hues.
