Pure, luscious Californian Pinot with lovely aromatics, soft velvet tannins and vibrant berry fruit.
Calera Central Coast Pinot Noir is a dry, medium bodied red wine from California, USA. It's 100% Pinot Noir with 14.1% abv. Suitable for Vegetarians.
Varietal Pinot Noir made from the grape's pioneer in North America, Josh Jensen, who trained in Burgundy. 2016 provided near-ideal growing conditions and resulted in a balanced, intense style of Pinot Noir. The fruit is sourced from the finest vineyards on the Central Coast, bunch pressed and fermented for 14 days before being matured in French oak, 10% new barrel, for 11 months. Aromas of berries and baking spice lead into a mouthwatering palate of cherries, wild strawberries and sassafras trees (an aromatic tree indigenous to North America) with nuances of pepper and spice. The finish is lush and long.
You'll like this if you like: Fruit-led, top flight Pinot Noir.
Pairs beautifully with: Roasted chicken with glazed parsnips and carrots, butcher's sausages and mash, fennel seasoned duck breasts, lamb stew with root vegetables, or try with wild mushroom risotto.
Cheese pairing: Brie, Gorgonzola dolce or mature Cheddar.
