Rich, full-bodied Uruguayan red brimming with blackberry, cassis and chocolate.
Bracco Bosca Ombu Reserve Petit Verdot is a full-bodied dry red wine from Atlandia, Uruguay. It's 100% Petit Verdot with 13.5% abv. Suitable for Vegans.
'Ombu' is the native tree of South America and grows widely in Uruguay, forming an important part of the Gaucho culture as its shadow provides shelter from sun and rain. They often grow isolated, with the only forest of Ombu trees found in Uruguay and spanning some 20km. At the Bracco Bosca family winery there is a single Ombu tree that generations believed treasure was hidden under. Today that treasure is the vines with the family focused on careful viticulture. The grapes are sorted for quality and half the blend is matured in oak barrels for 5 months. The final wine is full bodied and creamy with rich, ripe blackberry aromas backed by oak. On the palate a mix of dark berries, cassis, chocolate and vanilla give you a confident example of Uruguay's big reds.
You'll like this if you like... Malbec, Tannat or new world Cabernet Sauvignon.
Pairs beautifully with: Grilled steak, spicy pork sausages, roast veal and other game, smoky chilli con carne, or aubergine moussaka.
Cheese pairing: Camembert cheese.
