Ben's Favourites Mixed Wine Collection

"I have always been a huge fan of wines that bring out the best in food. I'm obsessed with high quality Pinot Noirs and racy Rieslings but I can also fall for a beautifully deep and seductive red wine like the Croatian Dingac or a rounded, buttery Chardonnay like the one from the Biodynamic vineyards at Ancre Hill Estate in Wales. This case is a selection of six of my all-time favourite wines. Enjoy!"

"This is how all oak Chardonnay should be! Made with finesse in Ancre Hill's biodynamic vineyard and winery, their Chardonnay is a luxurious white wine with ripe grapefruit, stony minerality and a rounded vanilla complexity on the finish. Glorious!"

Hubertus Clusserath Riesling Spatelese 2011
Medium dry white from Mosel Valley, Germany

"A Riesling from Hubertus Clusserath's single vineyard that's an intense, medium sweet white wine with steely freshness, great acidity, lime and exotic fruits."

St.Donat Furmint "Marga" 2015

"Beautifully made dry style of Furmint selected from three premium vineyards in Csopak, Lake Balaton. Buttery hints but with steely freshness and indulgent dried apple fruits."

Babylonstoren Nebukadnesar 2013

"The wine is completely exclusive to Novel Wines and it's sublime. Brooding layers of dark chocolate on the nose with stunning balance between spiced summer berries and firm tannin in the mouth. Lusciously moreish!"

Matusko Dingac Plavac Mali 2011
Dry red from Dalmatia, Croatia

"Matusko is a pioneer of the premium Dingac red wines made from Plavac Mali (a variety known locally as the "blood of the soil"). Dark ruby red in colour, this is a full, rounded and harmonious wine with brooding black fruits, dark chocolate and a silky texture."

Nobilis Dracula Feteasca Neagra 2013
Dry red from Dealu Mare, Romania

"Made by the Vinarte Winery, one of Romania's leading producers of quality wines, this incarnation of Feteasca Neagra is simply sublime. Aromas and flavours of forest fruits with blackberries, prunes, blueberries, vanilla and violets. A long complex finish."
