Made exclusively from the most popular black grape of central and eastern Europe, Blaufrankisch, this delicious red comes from Dr Geza Balla’s namesake winery, which he founded in 1999 in Transylvania. A Hungarian winemaker, Balla selects his fruit from the Minis vineyard, planted on the foothills of Arad where the grapes thrive in long sunshine hours, granite and mustone-rich soils and the cooling influence of the River Mudras. The jewel-like wine is medium-bodied with tangy cherry and black pepper.
