With lovely notes of apple and a hint of spice, this wine is a prime example of Austrian Gruner Veltliner.
Rabl Gruner Veltliner Langenlois 2017 is a full-bodied dry white wine from Kamptal, Austria. It is 100% Gruner Veltliner with 12.5% abv. Suitable for Vegans.
Fancy a lovely example of Gruner? You've found one. The wine opens with spice, wood apple and honeydew melon aromas. On the palate it's creamy in texture with fleshy green and red apple notes and juicy cascading acidity. In classic Gruner Veltliner style, it finishes with hints of spicy white pepper. The wine is produced by the family-run winery Weingut Rabl, headed by Rudolf Rabl Jnr who took over from his father in 1986.
You'll like this if you like... dry white wine like Chenin Blanc or new world Sauvignon Blanc.
Food pairing: Austrian dishes like pan-fried chicken schnitzel with potato salad, or grilled seafood and creamy risottos. Would go wonderfully with a pea and mint risotto.
Cheese pairing: Cornish Yarg.
