Wagram

Wagram is an exciting wine region. It is home to 311 wineries and 2,720 hectares of vines. It is separated into two zones: to the north, where a massive terrain stretches 30km along the northern bank of the Danube as far as Kamptal, and the south, home to historic villages and the wine town of Klosterneuburg, near Vienna.

The soil here dates to the ice age, covering the sub soil in marine deposits allowing for balance of water retention and drainage. The additional perk of this region is the loess soil in Wagram reaches a height of up to 20m and is full of valuable nutrients. This means the grapes ripen slowly, developing the ideal level of physiological ripeness and preserving the fruit character.
