Smeaton's Gin

Smeaton’s Gin is a passion project by Michael Palij MW and Edmund Skinner Smith and takes its name from Smeaton’s Road, on which the Bristol City Archives sit. It was here that Michael discovered amongst records from the 1800s that a Bristol Method of producing gin existed.  As a great port of England, spices and botanicals would arrive in the port at different times of year and to preserve their freshness these were distilled individually and then later blended together to create a Dry Gin.  Smeaton’s Gin is a revival of this method and the outcome is quite amazing.
