Salcombe Gin
Salcombe, once a small and obscure fishing port in Devon, became home to the lucrative fruit trade of the Salcombe Fruiters in the 19th century, importing perishable fruit from the Azores, Iberia and Mediterranean. It's this history that inspired co-founders Angus and Howard to venture into spirits distillation and Salcombe Distilling Co was born in the coastal town of Salcombe in 2014. They built their distillery, The Boathouse, in 2015 and launched their debut gin Start Point in 2016 to critical acclaim. In 2019, a gin inspired by the aromas, flavours and lifestyles of southern France is born and named the ‘Rosé Sainte Marie’.
