Kekfrankos is a Hungarian red grape variety (Blaufrankisch in Austria). It has a high tannin content and spicy character. Kekfrankos wine has deep wood berry and cherry notes and a high acidity levels. Kekfrankos wines are more difficult to approach when young, but have a good ageing potential, and pair excellently with any read meat dish such as a gourmet burger or steak.
