Truly unique wine with fresh red berries and a hint of smoke.
Bussay Csokaszolo is a dry red wine from Zala, Lake Balaton, Hungary. It is 100% Csokaszolo with 12.0% abv. Suitable for Vegans.
Dr Dori Bussay has revived this forgotten Hungarian black grape variety. Csokaszolo was once very popular in the 19th century, making wines a shimmering ruby in colour. Aromas of red berries and layers of currants over a textured, lightly smoky palate. It is fresh like a Pinot Noir, but has its own unique character with an earthy finish. Something different and individual!
You'll like this if you like... Old world Pinot Noir, Loire Cabernet Franc or Beaujolais Gamay wines.
Pairs beautifully with: Lamb cutlets, sausages and mash, fresh tomato and basil pasta dishes, grilled chicken, or falafel balls with meze small plates.
Cheese pairing: Cheddar.
