Etyek-Buda is home to Hungary’s capital city, Budapest, and many great vineyards primarily known for dry white wines and exceptional sparkling wine. Located in the middle-north of Hungary, the main winemaking area in the region surrounds the village of Etyek, which is a half hour drive from Budapest. It sits west of the Danube river.
The climate is cooler here than the national average for Hungary. This means it favours styles with crisp, refreshing acidity. International grape varieties like Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling are widely grown in the region.
