Aldwick Estate Buteo 2018, England
Delicate, floral white wine with zippy lemon and moreish flavours of gooseberry, passion fruit and pear.
The name 'Buteo' comes from the vineyard's buzzards that watch over the vineyards and protect the precious grapes. Buteo Buteo is the scientific label for the common buzzard. Buteo is bottled from fruit harvested on the Homefield & Woodlands vineyards and made in stainless steel by winemaker Steve Brooksbank. The resulting wine is a light-bodied white with a citrussy nose of lemon and grapefruit, followed on the palate by a mixed salad of gooseberries, passion fruit, elderflower and green pear. It's a wine that's simple but easy to love!
You'll like this if you like... Fresh, no-nonsense great tasting white wine (and especially if you drink Sauvignon Blanc).
Pairs beautifully with: Fresh cherry tomato and green leaf salad, steamed white fish and new spuds, poached salmon or a garden pea and broadbean risotto.
