Davenport Vineyards
Will Davenport planted his first 5 acres of vineyard at Horsmonden, Kent, in 1991. At the time he was working for a Hampshire vineyard and little did he know that this would become the beginning of his life's work as a wine producer.
27 years later, Davenport now has 24 acres in 5 parcels of land. Each parcel is different, with a multitude of soil types, mico-climates and 9 different grape varieties. They are located mainly in Kent as well as in Rotherfield, Sussex. In 2000, he decided to go fully Organic and was certified by the Soil Association. The vines today are managed by Phil Harris, while Will Davenport focuses on the winery.
