Fruity, smooth Malbec with a hint of vanilla and sweet tannins.
Pannunzio Las Piedras Malbec is a medium to full-bodied dry red wine from Maipú, Argentina. It's 100% Malbec with 14.8% abv. Suitable for Vegetarians.
José and Luis, sons of the winery founder Giovanni Vincenzo who emigrated to Argentina from Italy in the 1950s, look after the Pannunzio estate today. Their classic Las Piedras Malbec comes from the sandy, stony soils of Barrancas, situated 780m above sea level in Maipú. The grapes enjoy cold maceration on their skins for a bright colour but fruity aroma and smooth, sweet tannin extraction. 20% of the final wine is matured in American and French oak barrels to soften the blend and add a dab of vanilla. This is a silky-smooth red wine full of cherries, plums and bramble fruits over tones of vanilla and sundried tomatoes.
You'll like this if you like... fruitier styles of South American Malbec; this is also one for fans of Primitivo from southern Italy.
Pairs beautifully with: Meatballs in tomato pasta, steak and chips, beef burger, sausages and mash or a lamb tagine.
Cheese pairing: Gorgonzola, Brie or Camembert.
