Our first ever wine tasting in Salisbury
We're expanding our much-loved wine tasting events to Salisbury in July. The beautiful Wiltshire city, near Stone Henge, was where co-founder and wine buyer Ben Franks grew up.
On Friday 6 July, we've teamed up with Fisherton Mill Café & Gallery to offer a truly unique wine tasting of six wines, paired with cheese from Nibbles Cheesemonger. The wines will showcase a cross-selection of what we do best here at Novel Wines:
We begin with the Bolney Estate Bubbly NV, our new easy-going, higher dosage English sparkling wine that we think can persuade any Prosecco fan to go home-grown. Then we'll taste our new Oliver Zeter Grauburgunder, a Pinot Gris from the Pfalz that is perfect for the sunshine, and the zippy Domaine Koquelicot Cuvée Santa Chiara from Croatia.
After the fizz and whites, we've chosen the Brazilian Casa Valduga Identidade Pinot Noir from a family producer in Campanha, and the limited edition Chateau Purcari Maluri de Prut from Moldova for our red wines. While the latter is full bodied and spicy, the former is a juicy and light style for Summer drinking.
Finally we'll round off with a truly weird, wonderful and delicious bottle of Monsoon Valley Late Harvest Chenin Blanc from Thailand. This crisp dessert wine tastes like crushed cider apples and pairs beautifully with a block of Stilton.
Fancy joining us in Salisbury for the event?
