The Independent English Wine Awards (IEWA) have declared their 2018 winners and their were some celebrations for producers on our portfolio! There were double wins for Cottonworth and success for Somerset producers Aldwick Court, Dunleavy Vineyards and Oatley Vineyard.
Cottonworth's Rosé Sparkling won the coveted Gold Medal - one of just 13 wines this year. Testament to this fizz's awesome flavour and winemaking finesse. It's easily one of the most exciting English wines we've ever tried.
Somerset-based and local favourite Aldwick Court Bacchus won Silver for its delicious, fresh white wine. The team said it was "wonderful news" to be recognised by the IEWA.
There were more big wins for Cottonworth as their iconic Classic Cuvée NV won a Silver Medal, adding to its IWSC accolade for "Best English Sparkling Wine" last year. Manager Federico said that they were "absolutely thrilled" with the result and were one of the first to celebrate their dual win on social media.
There were more wins for Somerset as Ingrid Bates' Dunleavy Vineyards Rosé won a Silver Medal at the awards. Ingrid said she was "delighted". This is one of our favourite all-time rosés!
There was also a Bronze Medal for Oatley Vineyard's Barrel Matured 2016, which is great news! Always lovely to see Oatley, the first wine we stocked, do so well.
